YBhg. Datuk Mohamad Salim Bin Fateh Din, the Managing Director of Gapurna Sdn Bhd and its group of companies, is an established entrepreneur and business innovator, who owns and manages construction, property investment and property development businesses.
A well known entrepreneur with a pioneering spirit, he is one of the first property developers to embark on the green development concept. His hallmark green project projects include the 348 Sentral at KL Sentral, and the ongoing PJSentral Garden City, both hailed as industry benchmarks geared towards the highest standards of the Green Building Index (GBI) as well as Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED).
YBhg. Datuk Mohamad Salim also pioneered the "Super Store Petrol Station" concept to leading oil companies namely Shell, Esso, BP and Caltex. He was responsible for designing the latest distribution centres for retailer Giant by modernizing and improving its food-processing systems while reducing its logistic costs and delivery turnaround time.
The success of Giant's was later emulated by others in the country's food supply chain. Nonetheless, YBhg Datuk Mohamad Salim's principal business is property investment and development. He is among the first few developers who adopted a "Green" concept. The hallmark developments that he spearheaded include the P.J Sentral Garden City and the 348 Sentral at KL Sentral.
Datuk Mohamad Salim currently also sits on the boards of its group of companies; and is the Chairman of British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Berhad, Non-Executive Chairman of GCH Retail (Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.); and the Chairman of the Malaysia-Pakistan Business Council. He is also a long-serving member of the Board of Trustees at the Yayasan Pendidikan Cheras and the Yayasan Amal Wangsa.
He was appointed as a Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission on 1 December 2010 until 31 December 2014.
